Talen. Horton. Tucker. Three names, three huge points for the Los Angeles Lakers sophomore, who drained the game-winner to beat the New York Knicks in overtime, 101-99.

Peep the absolutely cold-blooded dagger from THT that put the Lakers up for good:

With LeBron James out and a must-win contest in front of him, Talen Horton-Tucker came up huge. The shot was also his huge chance at redemption as he had just cost the Lakers two possessions with a couple of turnovers moments prior. But I'm sure all is forgiven after hitting that crucial bucket.

Just the fact that Horton-Tucker took the shot showed how much confidence the young man has. With the Lakers down one, the play was clearly meant to be for superstar big man Anthony Davis. THT tried desperately to find an opening for AD to no avail and with the clock slowly ticking down he sized up the contested shot from the left wing over Derrick Rose.

The Lakers are desperately trying to avoid the play-in tournament with just three games left. They find themselves behind both the Dallas Mavericks and the Portland Trail Blazers for a spot in the top six. However, with them losing any potential tie-breakers they'd have to straight up leapfrog either team. Winning out their final games and hoping for some scheduling luck is their only shot, which makes Talen Horton-Tucker's heroics all the more important.
