Troy Daniels is plenty aware his Los Angeles Lakers were set back by remaining quiet in the trade deadline, as the hallway rival Los Angeles Clippers got the best of them by acquiring a punchy scorer in Marcus Morris. Yet the role player admitted he'll still roll with LeBron James at the end of the day.

In a recent interview with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Heavy.com, Daniels said the Lakers are not scared of the Clippers, though he has noted the tide has shifted after the deadline.

“No,” said Daniels when asked if his team was scared of the Clippers. “I really do mean it, to be honest with you I really do. That was a good addition that they got, but I would never even if I wasn’t on the team bet against LeBron. I’ll be totally honest with you. Because when you really look at it, when it’s all said and done right now, stop playing basketball to this day, I’m going with The King bruh. The King won before.”

Daniels is still aware enough to know most analysts and writers are siding with the Clippers if both teams are at full health, considering their depth, their league-leading bench scoring, and the assets they've added in recent weeks.

The Lakers became a quick favorite to get out of the West, even after losing two games to the Clippers in the regular season, but Daniels is fully aware the tide may have changed.

“I think we WERE the favorite, but I think we’re the underdog now at the trade deadline,” said Daniels.

It seems the marksman still has absolute faith in LeBron James, who had made it to eight straight NBA Finals before his first season without making the playoffs in 14 years in 2018-19. Yet there's a lot the Lakers will have to prove if they are to become frontrunners in the West again.
