The Los Angeles Lakers emerged victorious in a tightly contested matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night. The win came thanks to an outstanding performance by Lakers star LeBron James as he returned to play his hometown team.

LeBron scored 46 points, including 21 in the fourth quarter. He revealed afterward he was motivated by a Cavs executive who got a little too excited about a miss at the end of the third quarter.

There is now video available of that Cavs executive clapping obnoxiously after the miss. LeBron can be seen glaring over in the man's direction:

LeBron James, clearly irked by the incident, then exploded for his 21-point scoring outburst in the fourth quarter. He even outscored the entire Cavs unit, which only managed to score 19 points of their own. In addition to his season-high 46 points, he tallied eight rebounds and six assists through 38 minutes of action in the game.

LeBron shot a red-hot 19-of-26 from the field and 7-of-11 from beyond the arc in the 115-108 road victory.

The victory lifted the Lakers to a 14-4 record to maintain their hold of the top spot in the Western Conference. LeBron James and the team will aim for their fourth consecutive win when they visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.

After the incident, this Cavs team executive could certainly learn a thing or two about not getting into the heads of NBA players, most especially LeBron James. One would think somebody in Cleveland would know a thing or two about that.
