A.C. Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a fan of LeBron James, but only to a degree, and not unreservedly. While the ageless Ibrahimovic admits he admires the Los Angeles Lakers superstar as an athlete, the former actually had a bit to say about LeBron's tendency to involve himself in the political sphere.
As it turns out, Zlatan Ibrahimovic completely disagrees with the notion of athletes involving themselves in the goings-on in the socio-political world (h/t ClutchPoints on Twitter):
"LeBron is phenomenal at what he's doing, but I don't like when people have some kind of status, they go and do politics at the same time what they're doing. do what you're good at."

Wow. That's a pretty strong take, especially coming from an athlete of Ibrahimovic's stature. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is considered as one of the greatest players of his generation — he has found success in the many teams and countries he has played in — and he's simply one of the best. In this respect, he could be considered as a bit of an authority in the matter of excelling in one's particular field.
Apparently, Ibrahimovic has gotten to where he is right now by focusing solely on the one thing that he is good at — football. For him, it's all about training to be the best player he can be. There's no room for politics in the world of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The same cannot be said about LeBron James.
Aside from being one of the greatest athletes on the planet, the Lakers star is also one of the most influential members of the African American community. He is never afraid to speak his mind. As a matter of fact, he goes out of his way to make his opinions known. It's more than just words for LeBron too, as his philanthropy is also something that he has been recognized for.
Be that as it may, for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he clearly believes that LeBron should just shut up and dribble.
It might be disappointing to many, but the story can't be interpreted any other way. It's a clear declaration Zlatan Ibrahimovic decided to make.
