Don't let their recent inactiveness fool you. At this point, the Los Angeles Lakers seem to be working hard behind the scenes to pull off a blockbuster trade deal (or two) that should make a significant impact on their title hopes this coming season.

According to NBA insider Sam Amico of Hoops Wire, not only are the Lakers still eyeing a LeBron James-Kyrie Irving reunion in Hollywood, but they are also still actively finding a way to offload Russell Westbrook this summer:

The Lakers are still active on the trade front and Nets star Kyrie Irving is still very much in their sights. They very much remain determined to move Russell Westbrook, sources have told Hoops Wire.

Finding a trade partner for Westbrook has proven to be a daunting task for the Lakers. The former league MVP's gargantuan deal has been a huge stumbling block, with opposing teams unwilling to take such a huge cap hit for Russ. Teams such as the San Antonio Spurs and the Utah Jazz have both been linked to Westbrook, but with the likely outcome of the nine-time All-Star being bought out immediately after a trade deal.

Likewise, the Kyrie deal has proven to be quite challenging for LA, with the Brooklyn Nets reportedly wanting to deal Kevin Durant first before making their move on Irving. The odds of KD staying in Brooklyn have been improving of late, which has had a direct effect on the Lakers' dream to reunite Kyrie with LeBron in LA. Needless to say, the Lakers will need to work harder if they want this to come to fruition.
