Luke Walton and the Los Angeles Lakers fell agonizingly short of snapping their recent losing streak as they fell 148-142 to the Houston Rockets in double-overtime. Trevor Ariza was a huge part of the Rockets’ success as he delivered 26 points and six three-pointers in a team-high 45 minutes.
Walton and Ariza got together for a word after the game, although Walton clearly didn’t have complimentary things to say to the Rockets forward.

Despite Walton uttering expletives in Ariza’s ear, it was clearly a joking gesture as both men came away laughing.
Walton and Ariza go a long way back. They were teammates on the Lakers for part of the 2007-08 season, as well as the team’s championship-winning 2008-09 campaign. But while Walton had retired by age 32, the 32-year-old Ariza is still going strong and is dealing his former teammate another defeat.
Walton was likely peeved by the fact that his team still hasn’t been able to get back to winning ways, no thanks to his old teammate. But Walton's cursing in Ariza’s ear was all in good fun, though, and rightly so.
Walton will have to wait to have the last laugh on Ariza and the Rockets, whom they face for the fourth and final time in the second-to-last game of the regular season.
