Now that Lonzo Ball has been made an official member of the Los Angeles Lakers, his outspoken father has also had even more time under the limelight to express his thoughts in anticipation of the upcoming NBA season.

LaVar Ball, who's never been one to shy away from comparing himself or his boys from basketball legends of past and present, may have met his match — albeit from another well-off clan from SoCal whose ties to the NBA are peripheral at best.

TMZ Sports recently got a hold of the Big Baller Brand mastermind, asking the elder Ball what his take is on the comparisons between his family and the Kardashians:

“I ain't no Kardashian, I ain't Kris Jenner. We the Balls; welcome to the Ball era.”

In typical fashion, LaVar Ball denied resemblances between him and his family against an individual or a group of individuals that pale in comparison to the Ball dynasty.

However, one can't help but associate the two sides given all their similarities. The Balls and Kardashians are both affluent families hailing from Los Angeles, each with three children – save for Kris Kardashian-Jenner's extended family – and an undying thirst for fame and fortune. The Balls are also set to be featured in a new Facebook documentary series, which sounds pretty much like Keeping Up with the Kardashians except with more elements of basketball and (hopefully) less privileged whining.

About the only obvious difference between them is that LaVar Ball is grabbing all the headlines on behalf of his family, whereas the Kardashian sisters are at the forefront of their family's popularity and with matriarch Kris merely on the sidelines.

If LaVar is intent on erasing his family's tangential relations with the Kardashians, he best keep his boys as far away from the Kardashian sisters. Don't forget how a couple of NBA ballers (pun unintended) in Lamar Odom and Kris Humphries became afterthoughts after having their respective relationships ruined by Khloe and Kim.
