The New York Liberty take on the Las Vegas Aces. Our WNBA odds series has our Liberty Aces prediction, odds, and pick. Find out how to watch Liberty Aces.

Here we go. This is the rematch of the 2023 WNBA Finals, a highly-anticipated clash whose value shouldn't be overanalyzed, but whose star players nevertheless make this a central attraction of the WNBA season. A'ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Kelsey Plum, Sabrina Ionescu, Jackie Young, and others make this a centerpiece WNBA game. These teams are loaded, and they are both without important contributors. New York is without Courtney Vandersloot, who has missed the past several games for personal reasons and is not expected to play on Saturday in Las Vegas. The Aces are without guard Chelsea Gray, whose absence was felt in the Aces' slow start to the season. Neither team is at full strength, but when the Liberty and Aces play, the WNBA community will pay full attention to the proceedings.

Why The Liberty Could Cover The Spread

The Liberty don't have the best record in the WNBA entering this game, but they are probably the best team. They beat the Connecticut Sun — the one team ahead of them in the standings — on the road. They had a few clunkers early in the season and looked wobbly, but they have since steadied themselves and look a lot more like the team which won 32 games in the 2023 WNBA regular season. This team has proven veteran stars. The team doesn't get rattled. Going on the road doesn't intimidate this group; if anything, it plays with even more focus and tunnel vision.

The Aces are the defending champions, but without Chelsea Gray, they are far from their best selves. They're close to a .500 team, and they need Gray to become a top-tier team in the league. The Liberty have been better without Courtney Vandersloot than what we have seen from the Aces without Gray. That's an important difference between these teams.

Why The Aces Could Cover The Spread

The Aces got a career-high 34 points from Jackie Young on Thursday night in a win over the Phoenix Mercury. The Aces hit 9 of 9 3-point shots in the second quarter, part of a 42-point barrage in those 10 minutes to overcome a 16-point deficit. Keep in mind that the Mercury, though not owning a strong record, are a much better team with Brittney Griner in the lineup. Griner had missed some games but recently came back to the court. Phoenix knocked off the very strong Minnesota Lynx with Griner. The Mercury are a formidable team with their center on the floor. The Aces were able to overcome Phoenix with Young, who realizes that with Chelsea Gray unavailable, she has to step up. She certainly did against the Mercury. If this is the version of Jackie Young which shows up against the Liberty, the Aces have enough to win. A'ja Wilson is still the best player in the league. The Aces have her and the Liberty do not. There's a reason why Vegas beat New York in the 2023 WNBA Finals.

Final Liberty-Aces Prediction & Pick

The Liberty have been the better, more consistent team than the Aces this season. It's that simple. Take the Liberty.
