NFL teams around the league are finalizing their coaching staff's as the 2022 NFL offseason quickly approaches. Things could get interesting for the Detroit Lions, as they have yet to fill their offensive coordinator position. A rumor has been spreading the team aims to hire former Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy. However, somebody within Detroit's organization has shut that rumor down.

According to Jeff Risdon, an unnamed Lions employee provided a hilarious response to the Matt Nagy/offensive coordinator rumors. Although the rumors have been swirling, it seems as though Detroit has no intentions of hiring Nagy as the offensive coordinator. At least, that's the viewpoint of this specific employee.

The glare and very straightforward question are a winning combination. They say there is no such thing as a dumb question, but when you receive a response such as this one, that saying becomes completely untrue. Although the Lions are searching for an offensive coordinator, Matt Nagy could be off their radar.

We'll see who the Lions end up hiring. A part of me hopes they actually do hire Nagy just so we can possibly get an update from this disgruntled employee. For the sake of the fans though, hopefully, the front office will hire for a much more exciting name to lead the offense.

At the end of the day, Detroit wasn't as bad as their record indicates. There's reason to believe that Dan Campbell can turn this franchise around. If he can manage to hire a competent play-caller, the Lions should be able to make the necessary improvements next season. For now, everybody awaits to see who this franchise will hire for the offensive coordinator position.
