The Detroit Lions are still fighting week in and week out despite the 2021 season being somewhat of a lost cause. At 2-12-1, the playoffs are well out of reach for Dan Campbell's squad, but that won't stop them from trotting about the best possible lineup each week. That's just the case for this upcoming weekend, as the Lions have cleared quarterback Jared Goff from the COVID list, according to Tim Twentyman.

Goff missed the Lions' Week 16 matchup against the Falcons after being placed on the reserve/COVID list, prompting the team to start backup Tim Boyle in his stead. Boyle threw for one interception and one touchdown in the loss to Atlanta, racking up 187 yards and getting rookie wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown heavily involved, once again.

While Boyle was decent in Goff's absence, getting their starting QB back on the field will be a big boost for their Week 17 clash with the Seattle Seahawks.

Unfortunately, Goff won't have all of his top targets at his disposal on Sunday, with wide receiver Josh Reynolds expected to miss the game after landing on the COVID list, per Twentyman.

Reynolds was targeted seven times in the Lions' loss to Atlanta, but only came away with two receptions for 36 yards. On the season, Reynolds has 28 receptions for 385 yards and two touchdowns, having spent time with both Detroit and Tennessee in 2021.

With Goff back in the mix, the Lions will pose much more of a threat against the struggling Seahawks than they would with Boyle under center as they seek out their third win of the year.
