The Detroit Lions have the no. 2 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, and Dan Campbell and co. are expected to take Michigan standout Aidan Hutchinson if he is still available at that point. If not, however, don't expect them to take Kayvon Thibodeaux.

While the Lions need an edge rusher, Thibodeaux's fit with the team is reportedly a major concern for Campbell. Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated highlighted as much in his latest mock draft, with one league exec noting his “personality” to be “a lot.”

A lot of people are convinced they will go edge rusher here regardless. And I’d agree that if Hutchinson is there, this will become academic for them. If he’s not? Well, I can tell you that no one I’ve talked to at this point believes that Oregon’s Kayvon Thibodeaux is in any way a culture fit for Detroit coach Dan Campbell. “His personality is a lot,” said one exec, “and you hear the head coach there isn’t a fan.”

With that said, the Lions could very well opt to select Travon Walker instead. The Georgia star is one of the most versatile players in his position among the class, so he could be a safer choice for Detroit as they look to continue rebuilding the team.

It remains to be seen what the Lions will do with their pick, but they certainly need to do it right if they want to speed up their return to playoffs and title contention.
