Bryson DeChambeau reportedly joined the LIV Golf Tour on Wednesday. He joins a long list of marketable names such as Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson who have joined Saudi-backed golf. The announcement comes just days after DeChambeau declared he was not going to the LIV Tour.

He has already received plenty of backlash on social media for his decision. But DeChambeau's reasoning for leaving will only leave fans mocking him even further.

Bryson Dechambeau's agent shared the following statement in reference to DeChambeau's departure from the PGA Tour to the LIV Golf Tour.

“Bryson has always been an innovator. Having the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of something unique has always been intriguing to him. Professional golf as we know it is changing and it's happening quickly.”

Despite multiple players already taking the Saudi money and joining LIV Golf, DeChambeau is supposedly an innovator for following suit.

As aforementioned, DeChambeau echoed a completely different tune less than a week ago.

“For me, I personally don't think that at this point in time I'm in a place in my career where I can risk things like that.”

Justin Thomas shared his thoughts on players leaving the tour following DeChambeau's announcement. Thomas emphasized that everyone is free to do whatever they choose is best for them. However, he did mention that he wishes players such as Dustin Johnson would have stayed in the PGA Tour.

There is no question that the golf world is at a turning point. It will be fascinating to see the effects of the LIV Tour on the PGA Tour.
