EA Sports Madden 25 will no doubt include the 99 Club, which is a list of NFL athletes who earn the highest possible rating in a Madden game. While we expect names like Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill to make an appearance again, there's other players who deserve consideration. And, with the retirement of future Hall-Of-Famer Aaron Donald, there's a vacant spot for a new player to join the ranks. Without further ado, here are our favorite candidates for the Madden 25 99 Club.

Who Should Be In The Madden 25 99 Club?

Overall, we believe the following six players deserve a spot in the Madden 25 99 Club:

  • Patrick Mahomes (QB) – Kansas City Chiefs
  • Justin Jefferson (WR) – Minnesota Vikings
  • Christian McCaffrey (RB) – San Francisco 49ers
  • Lamar Jackson (QB) – Baltimore Ravens
  • Tyreek Hill (WR) – Miami Dolphins
  • Myles Garrett (DE) – Cleveland Browns

Why Patrick Mahomes Deserves A Spot In The Madden 25 99 Club

Firstly, the back-to-back Super Bowl winning QB Patrick Mahomes deserves another spot in the Madden 25 99 Club. Sure, he had what you could consider a “down year” in 2023. But let's be honest, some teams wish their QB could throw for over 4,000 yards and complete over 67% of passes in a down year. Additionally, Mahomes' MVP performance in Super Bowl LVIII was nothing short of amazing. He and the Chiefs might just be able to pull of a three-peat in the 2024-2025 season.

Why Justin Jefferson Deserves A Spot In The Madden 25 99 Club

Minnesota Vikings' WR Jefferson also deserves a spot on the 99 Club. Again, he had a slightly less impactful year, but injuries to him and QB Kirk Cousins heavily affected the offense. For Jefferson to still put up over 1,000 yards and five touchdowns in just nine starts means a lot. Before his injury against the Chiefs in Week 5, Jefferson averaged over 135 yards per game en route to eclipsing well over 2,000 yards on the season. Put him on the list and be done with it.

Why Christian McCaffrey Deserves A Spot In The Madden 25 99 Club

Christian McCaffrey has been nothing but a baller for the 49ers since the team traded for him back in 2022. Last year he earned over 2,000 yards from scrimmage with over 20 touchdowns. Since joining the team, he's been a valuable asset as a runner, receiver, and even blocker, if need be. As long as he stays healthy, there's no reason to deny he'll continue to produce.

Why Lamar Jackson Deserves A Spot In The Madden 25 99 Club

We'd be remiss not to mention Baltimore Ravens' QB Lamar Jackson. The 2023 NFL MVP did everything he needed to prove he deserves a spot in the 99 Club. Around a year ago this time, I was pretty critical of Jackson's ability as a passer (as well as his durability). But after the 2023 season, I saw that Jackson played extremely efficiently with a solid, but not flashy, group of WRs. If he stays healthy, he'll be a problem for defensive coordinators in real life, and virtually.

Why Tyreek Hill Deserves A Spot In The Madden 25 99 Club

With back-to-back 1700+ yard seasons under his belt, Tyreek Hill deserves a Madden 25 99 Club spot. He not only led the league in receiving yards (1,799), but in touchdowns, too (13). Overall, there really stands no reason why Hill should not make the list. He and Jaylen Waddle make for one of the league's most dangerous receiving duos. Don't expect that to change in 2024.

Why Myles Garrett Deserves A Spot In The Madden 25 99 Club

We wanted to add a defensive player to the list. We debated between Myles Garrett and Micah Parsons, but believe the 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the year deserved the honors. Garrett is coming off his sixth straight double-digit sack season. The five-time Pro Bowler was more than worth drafting first overall in the 2017 draft, with three First-Team All-Pro nods so far. He'll continue to make waves in the 2024 season and beyond.

Overall, that includes our favorite candidates for the Madden 25 99 Club. We look forward to the Madden 25 player ratings reveal, which typically comes before the game's release.
