In today's league, the NBA has evolved into a super team association. The reigning NBA champion the Golden State Warriors are a reminder that the NBA is built on the foundation of a super team, while other franchises try to forge their own super teams to compete for a championship these days.

In any case, it appears that the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree, especially during some of the previous era of league history. Once upon a time, Spurs legend Tim Duncan once thought about leaving the Spurs to join the Magic, to suit up with Hall-of-Famer Tracy McGrady. McGrady would later state that former Doc Rivers ruined the deal, but many people ignored the notion. Now, Grant Hill has come out and confirmed that McGrady was telling the truth.

It's difficult to imagine the Magic with McGrady, Hill, and Duncan on the same team. All of these players are once in a lifetime players and would have definitely been a super team to reckon with.

Apparently, Rivers made an ill-advised comment at the wrong time, and Duncan decided to stay with the Spurs. Though, maybe it was all for the best.

Duncan ended up winning five titles with the Spurs in his illustrious career, and he is heralded as the greatest Spur of all time. On the other hand, Hill and McGrady have never come close to winning a championship. While Duncan obviously commends himself for making the right decision, McGrady is still kicking himself thinking about what could have been. However, he may not be the only one with that question.
