Orlando Magic forward Terrence Ross is auditioning for the NBA's Slam Dunk Contest, it looks like.

The 28-year-old veteran wing went up strong on Friday in the Magic's home matchup with the Boston Celtics, jumping from the free throw circle to slam over opposing center Daniel Theis.

Ross, a prolific 3-point shooter with hops to show, previously competed in the 2013 Slam Dunk Contest during his rookie season over the All-Star Weekend. It's unclear who all the participants are for this year's festivities, although Los Angeles Lakers veteran center Dwight Howard will be competing after previously winning the contest while he was with the Magic in 2008.

Eight years later, Ross could see himself back in the Dunk Contest after winning it, making for another comeback story of sorts alongside Howard's three weeks from now.
