Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant couldn't be prouder of Texas basketball after the team moved on to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament with a crucial win over Penn State in the Round of 32.

The no. 2 Longhorns didn't fall victim to the string of March Madness upsets that have happened so far, though they certainly didn't have an easy time against the Nittany Lions who put up a valiant effort before bowing down, 71-66. Luckily for Texas, Dylan Disu stepped up big time and dropped 28 points and 10 rebounds to propel the team to victory.

After watching the game, Durant quickly took to Twitter to celebrate the win. The injured Suns forward also made sure to give credit to Disu for his performance, even comparing him to LaMarcus Aldridge who played for Texas basketball from 2004 to 2006.

See y'all in the 16. Gameball goes to Dylan Disu, looked like a young LaMarcus Aldridge out there. Let's get it Texas Men's Basketball,” Durant wrote.

Sure enough, the road won't get any easier for Texas. They will be facing no. 3 seed Xavier Musketeers in the Sweet 16. In this March Madness so far, Xavier had two convincing wins against Kennesaw State and Pittsburgh.

Kevin Durant, of course, will have his eyes peeled on his TV as he cheers for his collegiate team. KD spent a one-and-done season with the Longhorns during the 2006-07 campaign, though he wasn't able to power the team to the Sweet 16 after falling in the second round. Despite that, he has always been supportive of Texas.

Here's to hoping that KD sees more of Texas in the NCAA Tournament. Who knows, he might want to attend a game if they reach the championship or Final Four!
