The new Mario Strikers game received a release date on the February 9 Nintendo Direct. After 15 years, a new game in the Mario Soccer franchise of games will be arriving.

Mario Strikers Battle League Release Date: June 10, 2022

Mario Strikers Battle League is set to release on June 10, 2022. The game will cost $60 and is also now available to pre-order in the Nintendo eShop and Best Buy. Other retailers will accept pre-orders for Mario Strikers Battle League in the very near future. However, it's confirmed that the game will have no pre-order bonuses of any kind.

Mario Strikers Battle League is a 5v5 soccer game with action-packed chaotic twists. Players can tackle their opponents, shove opponents to the electric perimeter, and use special abilities unique to each character. Players also have the ability to use some items from the Mario Kart franchise to level the playing field. Your goal is to score more points than your opponents before the time expires. 

The game gives players several ways to power up their favorite characters. Gears serve a dual purpose in Mario Strikers Battle League. Gears will play an essential part in the game as it boosts your character’s attribute points. These gears also serve as cosmetics, just to switch up your character’s look. Then there’s the Hyper Strike which allows players to score more points during a game. The Hyper Strike is basically a special move used when scoring a goal. Players simply have to pick up an orb that randomly drops during the course of the game. This orb will give the character the power to use their unique special ability and goal for double the points.

Mario Strikers Battle League will support both local and online multiplayer. Local play can accommodate up to 8 players in one Nintendo Switch console. The game also features Clubs that are basically like your soccer team during online play. Players can either create their own club or join an existing club and participate in online matches to see who the better club is. 

Mario Strikers Battle League looks to be a really fun Mario sports game to play both locally and online. The game is definitely full of action which would keep players on their toes at all times. Mario Strikers Battle League launches exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on June 10, 2022.
