Top NBA prospect Markelle Fultz is expected to work out for the Philadelphia 76ers today, according to the Boston Herald's Mark Murphy.

The University of Washington freshman star was at home in his native Upper Marlboro, Md — a relatively short trip from the City of Brotherly Love — which has expressed serious interest in drafting him, recently engaging in deep talks with the Boston Celtics to obtain the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft.

The Sixers reportedly would surrender the rights to their third overall draft pick and a future first-rounder in order to garner the first pick of the draft, with no players involved in the deal.

Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical previously reported that the 19-year-old could visit the 76ers for an interview as soon as Saturday, but the team will likely want to check all boxes — making sure Fultz is the player they want physically with his medical results, basketball-wise with his team workout, and personally with his interview with the front office.

Fultz is coming off two impressive workouts with the Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers, who reportedly “love him” after president Magic Johnson was impressed with his shooting display and two-on-two drill results.

At 6-foot-4, the Washington point guard could be a game-changer, regarded as a scoring machine with a lot more to offer, averaging a sixth-best in the nation 23.2 point-per-game average, along with 5.9 assists, 5.7 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game during his lone season as a Husky.

Fultz has a 7-foot wingspan — tool which has proved a double-edged sword, impressing at both sides of the ball.

If the 76ers choose to pull the trigger on the deal, the team could feature one of the best 1-3-5 combos in recent memory, teaming up young Fultz with rookie Ben Simmons and second-year phenom Joel Embiid.
