Miami Marlins first basemen Jesus Aguilar made sure to troll the New York Mets on Tuesday in their doubleheader after the whole thumbs-down fiasco with their fans.

It appears after Aguilar touched first base for an easy out, someone on the Mets' bench chirped him, possibly Francisco Lindor. The slugger then proceeded to mouth back and mock them with the thumbs-down gesture:

Savage. As if the Mets aren't dealing with enough animosity lately. Javier Baez and Lindor apologized on Tuesday for their actions, in which the former Cubs star used the gesture in a way to throw shade at the New York fans who have booed the team.

Mets president Sandy Alderson also released a statement on Sunday night where he condemned their actions. The ballclub has been in complete disarray lately and their supporters are clearly not happy. NY is 3-7 in their last 10 games and a whole seven games behind the Atlanta Braves in the NL East. When it comes to the Wild Card, they're also 6.5 out.

Clearly, there's just a lot of frustration both on and off the field. Aguilar certainly didn't help the case with his dig towards the Mets bench. But, it's baseball, and he's just trying to get under their skin. It's part of the game.
