The Dallas Mavericks tasted defeat against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night. But the bigger loss was that of Kristaps Porzingis, who exited the game with injury.
The Mavs star dealt with a foot issue hat forced him out of the contest, as reported by Mavs beat reporter Callie Caplan. Porzingis left the game midway through the third quarter, with the team calling it “right foot soreness”.

They were already playing without franchise face Luka Doncic, who continues to nurse an ankle injury that's bothered him all season long. Losing Kristaps Porzingis for any stretch would leave them vulnerable in the standings without their two best players.
But thankfully, Mavs head coach Jason Kidd had a positive update on Porzingis' injury as results on his X-rays came back negative.

The news certainly brings optimism that Kristaps Porzingis won't have to miss too much time, if any at all. However, Mavs fans have seen firsthand the dangers of letting your star play through any lingering pain, as Luka Doncic has been on and off the court with his own injury woes.
The Mavs have battled the injury bug all season long. Hopefully they get the better of things as the second half of the season rolls around.
