Dallas Mavericks wing Luka Doncic is nursing a wrist injury and was listed as questionable for Tuesday's Texas rodeo with the San Antonio Spurs. Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle, however, told reporters in the afternoon that the 21-year-old Slovenian prodigy will likely play, although the wrist will be a nagging injury for the first-time All-Star.

Doncic returned from a previous ankle injury on Feb. 12 after missing a string of seven games for Dallas, later missing two contests since he's been back, though.

The current wrist injury doesn't appear to be affecting him too much, although Carlisle disagrees, as last year's Rookie of the Year has been averaging 27.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 8.9 assists in 34.7 minutes per game, shooting 44.3 percent from the field, 28.2 percent from deep, and 71.8 percent from the free-throw line in the last nine games since returning from the ankle injury.

The Mavericks are 6-3 in that span when Doncic is on the court and are 1-1 in the two games he missed since the ankle injury sidelined Doncic for seven games.

Dallas' iffy competition in the last several weeks due to injuries to Doncic and other players have left the Mavs vulnerable as the Western Conference gears up for the playoffs in April and teams jockey for seeding position. Doncic and the Mavs once held a first-round home-field advantage earlier in the year before slipping to seventh in the West at the moment.

However, Dallas can still make up ground as they're only separated by 2.5 games with No. 4 seed Utah Jazz.
