You know that really tight bond between best friends Ben Affleck and Matt Damon? The one when they always trumpet each other's accomplishments? Yeah, Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis are not necessarily like that. At least not yet.

Much has been said about the alleged frosty relationship between the two stars of the Dallas Mavericks. Because of Doncic's ascent, Porzingis looked like a glorified sidekick. This became even more glaring in the last NBA Playoffs, when Porzingis was reduced to being a floor-spacer, so Doncic can have more operating room.

But with a new coach in Jason Kidd and a fresh start on the horizon, it seems Porzingis has no sour feelings towards Doncic. In fact, he was very generous with his compliments for his fellow All-Star (via Sports Illustrated).

“Every time I think about Luka, I think about the natural talent that he is. The kid is unbelievable. He's always known what it takes to win.”

It's imperative for the Mavericks to make Doncic and Porzingis work together in harmony. While they may not be BFFs still, having better chemistry on the hardwood will certainly benefit the squad.

As for Doncic, he's repeatedly said in the past that Porzingis is a huge part of the Mavericks. In the same article, the wonder boy from Slovenia said he's already noticed the positive changes in Porzingis, citing his “way better shape” and “good mood” during practices.

Luka Doncic added he and Kristaps Porzingis are “in for a great year together.” That would make any Mavericks fan's heart leap in joy.
