Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic rolled his ankle in the opening quarter of the Mavs' showdown with the Miami Heat and is now questionable to return.

Doncic appeared to hurt his ankle while driving to the basket less than two minutes into the game. He hobbled to the sidelines and dropped to the floor where he can be seen holding his right ankle.

The Slovenian wonderboy was quickly brought to the locker room.

According to Mavs PR, Doncic sustained an ankle injury. The team then listed him questionable to return to the game.

The extent of the injury remains unknown, but being listed as questionable is certainly a positive sign for the team. After all, had the Mavs listed him as out, it would mean that the injury is serious.

Entering Saturday's showdown with the Heat, Doncic is averaging 30.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game while shooting 48.2 percent from the field, 32.8 percent from deep and 80.2 percent from the free throw line.

Before hosting the Heat, Doncic put up a 40-point triple-double in Mexico against the Detroit Pistons. He torched Dwane Casey's squad with 41 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists en route to a 122-111 win over the Motor City team.

Mavs fans are certainly hoping that Luka's injury is not serious. The 20-year-old point forward is in the MVP conversation, and it is just impossible for Dallas to replace his nightly production.
