Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic posted his ninth triple-double of the season against the Stephen Curry-less Golden State Warriors on Saturday night, scoring 31 points to go along with 15 assists and 12 rebounds.
Doncic may have been the best player on the floor even if Curry were healthy, but the youngster remained humble when reporters alluded to similarities between himself and the two-time MVP.
“He's shooting way better than me,” Luka Doncic said. “He's a better player. He's been in the league a long time, he's somebody that everybody looks up [to], everybody wants to play like him. I remember last year after the draft, I practiced once with him, and it was crazy. He couldn't miss. He can't miss. And that was like something I'll always remember — practice with him.”

Luka Doncic has not been one to buy into his own hype. He has already brushed off any hype of him being the MVP this season while also stating that statistics are meaningless when it comes to comparisons with someone like Michael Jordan.
Still, it is hard to ignore just how good the 20-year-old has been in powering a surprising Mavs squad. Doncic hardly looks like he has missed a beat after missing four games with a mild ankle sprain, scoring a combined 55 points in a pair of Mavs wins upon his return.
From lighting up opposing defenses to signing a shoe deal with Jordan Brand, Luka Doncic is putting the league on notice that they are watching perhaps the eminent star of the next generation.
