Former NBA coach Sam Mitchell has nothing but massive praises for Luka Doncic a day after the Dallas Mavericks superstar led his team to a Game 3 win over the Phoenix Suns.

Mitchell shared how much he is in awe of Doncic's offensive talent, going as far as to saying that the things he is currently doing haven't been seen since Michael Jordan. While he is not as athletic as Jordan or even the likes of LeBron James and Kevin Durant, the Slovenian guard uses his craftiness and basketball IQ to get his buckets in volumes–which is what makes him really unique among other greats.

The ex-Coach of the Year and NBA player also dropped one of the best comparisons for Doncic, highlighting how he is a point guard in a power forward's body. Doncic is 6 foot 7 but is a designated point guard for the Mavs.

“Luka is built more like Karl Malone, plays like Magic [Johnson], but has the touch and finesse of Larry Bird,” Mitchell said, per SiriusXM NBA Radio.

The Magic Johnson and Larry Bird comparisons are no longer new. Luka Doncic's ability to dominate offensively and rack up triple-doubles certainly makes one remember Johnson and Bird, but it is certainly interesting to hear how he's built like Karl Malone.

Nonetheless, it is easy to see where that came from. With his height and built, Doncic could really play a small forward or power forward role. That is also what makes him a nightmare matchup for the smaller guards in the NBA.

The Mavs are still down 2-1 against the Suns, but they have a chance to tie the series at home in Game 4. Hopefully though, Luka channels those three NBA icons Sam Mitchell mentioned and lead Dallas again to victory just like he did in their previous outing.
