The Dallas Mavericks seem to be en route to yet another subpar season, sitting dead last in the Western Conference with a 5-16 record to start the first quarter of this NBA season. Fans still await the impending return of shooting guard Seth Curry, who has missed the start of the season with a stress reaction in his left tibia, after sustaining the injury during the preseason.

Head coach Rick Carlisle knows this weekend would mark the eight-week timeline initially given for his recovery, but said he's far from even giving weekly updates on his condition.

“Seth's not close,” said Carlisle, according to Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News. “Today's the 28th. So let's say Monday, the 11th. He ain't playing 'til then.”

Carlisle said that while Curry hadn't suffered any setbacks, the injury will take its course to heal, and so will Curry to get back to basketball activities.

If he comes back by said date, he would have missed the first 27 games of the season with this stress reaction.

Curry led the Mavericks in three-point shooting last season, shooting the ball at a 42.5 percent clip while scoring a career-high 12.8 points per game through his first season with the Mavericks.
