A new report suggests that the MCU's fourth Spider-Man film with Tom Holland and Zendaya could swing into production soon.

2024 production

Tom Holland, Spider-Man 4

According to Daniel Richtman (Patreon subscription required), the fourth Spider-Man film is eyeing a late 2024 production start. It's expected that stars Holland and Zendaya will return, along with director Jon Watts.

Nothing else is known about the film. This MCU film has more mystique than your general comic book movie fare given the ending of No Way Home.

Warning: Spoilers ahead of Spider-Man: No Way Home

The ending of No Way Home saw Peter Parker (Holland) choose to put a spell over the world. This caused everyone who knew he was Spider-Man to forget and to forget who he was himself — including MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon).

Peter is left by himself and he becomes the Spider-Man he was always meant to be. With Zendaya returning, it's a safe bet that she will encounter Peter in some way. Whether she remains in the dark vis-à-vis who Peter is remains unclear. But bringing back a star of her magnitude is a no-brainer. The MCU wasn't going to let her walk.

Jon Watts directed the first trilogy of Spider-Man films for the MCU. Bringing his 80s-inspired flare, it's not surprising that they wanted him to return. The same goes for Tom Holland, whose popularity has grown since taking over the role of the web-head. Aside from his Spider-Man role, Holland has starred in the likes of Cherry, The Devil All the Time, Chaos Walking, Uncharted, and The Crowded Room.
