New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom has been the talk of the big leagues this season. He's been absolutely dealing on the mound with a ridiculous 0.62 ERA in nine starts while also raking at the dish.

After lacing a two-RBI single on Friday against the Padres, the Mets star has officially driven in more runs at the plate than he's allowed on the bump this season. Crazy, eh?

The best part is that deGrom did it off of Blake Snell. Not exactly the easiest guy to square up, especially when he's throwing 96. deGrom is currently hitting .400 while collecting five RBI's. He's only surrendered four earned runs.

With the clutch knock, the Mets went up 3-0 on San Diego, who are in town for a three-game set through the weekend. With their hard-throwing righty leading the way, New York currently sits atop the NL East with a 30-24 record.

At this rate, Jacob deGrom will be the surefire Cy Young winner in the National League again. While he only hits every fifth day, who knows, maybe he can even win MVP too. But, that seems unlikely.

Nevertheless, what deGrom has been doing on both sides of the ball has been remarkable. We're witnessing history, folks.
