It is game two of an interleague series as the New York Mets visit the Cleveland Guardians. It is time to continue our MLB odds series with a Mets-Guardians prediction and pick.

The Mets enter the series sitting at 21-25, third in the NL East. They had lost five of their last seven games before this series, including two of three to the last-placed Marlins. Meanwhile, the Guardians are 30-17 heading into this series. They had won six of seven, including a sweep of the Minnesota Twins. The two will face off to start their series on Monday night. The Mets will send Tylor Megill to the mound. He is 0-1 with a 2.25 ERA. The Guardians counter with Ben Lively. He is 2-2 with a 3.02 ERA.

Leading the team in runs scored this year in Francisco Lindor. Like many Mets, he is not hitting well. He is hitting .197 on the year with a .273 on-base percentage. He had eight doubles and 12 home runs, leading to 34 RBIs. Further, he has scored 25 times this year.

Hitting wonderful this year is Andres Gimenez. He is hitting .277 on the year with a .337 on-base percentage. He has eight doubles, a triple, and three home runs, leading to 27 RBIs. Further, he has stolen seven bases and 26 runs scored. Rounding out the top bats is Tyler Freeman. Freeman is hitting just .222, but he is getting on base at a .325 create. He has seven doubles and four home runs, leading to 16 RBIs. Freeman also has stolen six bases and scored 25 times.

The Guardians are sixth in team ERA, eighth in WHIP, and eighth in opponent batting average. Carlos Carrasco will be on the mound this one. He is 2-4 on the year with a 5.16 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP. The Guardians have been pitching we this year, but Carlos Carrasco has not been pitching great. He is giving up a lot of runs. Further, Adrian Houser has been awful as a starter. The Guardians have one of the best offensive units this year, while the Mets can put up turns as well. Most likely, the Guardians will get the win, but the best play on this one is on the total.
