Since being selected with the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Lakers have thrust a tremendous weight of expectations upon the former UCLA product.

With that in mind, former Lakers forward Metta World Peace has taken these huge aspirations through the roof during an interview on Monday morning with Colin Cowherd on “The Herd.”

World Peace holds that same strong belief that the Lakers have in Ball that he can lead the franchise back to relevancy in the league and ultimately another NBA title. There is a clear view that his impact on the game as a passer, teammate, and leader can create a winning culture in Los Angeles in a short amount of time.

Although World Peace may be a little biased with his opinion given that he just spent $700 on a pair of ZO2s, there is still much to be said about a proven veteran in the NBA who has a wealth of experience of playing 17 years in the league saying that about a player who has yet to play a single game.

World Peace's raving praise toward Ball comes just a few days after president of basketball operations Magic Johnson called him the “new face of the Lakers” to open up his introductory press conference less than a day after being drafted.

All of this has created some gigantic expectations on the shoulders of Ball, and if he's any essence of the player that both World Peace and Johnson have described the Lakers will be back in business in the near future.
