Former Michigan State football defensive lineman Simeon Barrow has had quite the offseason so far. He recently decided to transfer away from the Spartans, and on May 3rd, Barrow committed to Miami football via the transfer portal. Now, just a few weeks later, there are some rumors that Barrow could be on the move again. His time with the Hurricanes might be short-lived, and if he does leave, Missouri football is reportedly a team to watch.

“Miami DL Simeon Barrow has yet to formally notify the program he’s leaving, however, it’s trending in that direction,” Pete Nakos said in a tweet.

The whole situation is a unique one, but one that is becoming more common in today's era of college football. Simeon Barrow just left Michigan State football to join Miami football, and he might be on the move again just a few weeks later. We have seen other instances this offseason that are similar to that. It is a part of the game that we will have to get used to.

“Things are currently up in the air with transfer defensive lineman Simeon Barrow and Miami,” Matt Zenitz said in a tweet. “He has matriculated, meaning he’s not actively in the portal anymore which could complicate a departure. If/when Barrow and Miami part ways, Missouri seems to be a team to watch as a possibility for him.”

From what the experts are saying, it certainly sounds like Barrow is going to be on the move again soon. This was a good get in the transfer portal for Miami as Barrow is an experienced guy. He has been a good contributor on defense for Michigan State throughout the past three seasons, and he would also be a good pickup for Missouri, a team that struggled on defense last season. We'll see if Barrow ends up making the move to the Tigers.

In three seasons with the Michigan State football team, Simeon Barrow played well. He had at least 34 total tackles each season, and he totaled 10.5 sacks throughout his career in East Lansing.

The Spartans are currently going through a coaching change as Jonathan Smith has taken over for the fired Mel Tucker. There are typically a fair amount of transfer portal departures when a coaching change happens, and Barrows decided that it was best for him to transfer to Miami football. Now, he's not so sure.

Michigan State also hasn't had much success at all the past two seasons, and that could've contributed to Barrow's decision to transfer to Miami. The Spartans had a great season in 2021 as they won 11 games, but they have won just nine combined game the past two seasons. They went 5-7 during the 2022 season and they went 4-8 last year.

We'll see what Simeon Barrow decides to do with his future, but it's sounding like he will not stay with Miami. Missouri football is certainly hoping for that outcome as they want to make sure that their defense is ready for the 2024 season. We should find out what Simeon wants to do soon.
