Now that the summer months have arrived, the Michigan football team is ramping up their recruiting efforts. The Wolverines have been on a tear throughout the past couple of weeks as they have landed commitments from a few top targets, and they are now hoping that they can land one from five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola. Michigan has an argument to be o-line U after a dominant past few seasons, and Babalola liked what he saw from the Wolverines on his official visit.

The Michigan football team has had the best offensive line in college football for the past three years now. The OL unit won the Joe Moore Award for the best OL in college football in 2021 and 2022, and then Washington won it last year. However, the national championship game showed that the committee probably just didn't want to give it to the same team three years in a row.

Point being, if you're a top offensive linemen, Michigan is a good place to go. Andrew Babalola is considering playing for the Wolverines, and it sounds like his recent official visit went well.

“It was really good just to understand that being at a place like Michigan, you can really get the most out of it and get set up for life after football,” Babalola said, according to a tweet from Zach Libby.

Landing Babalola would be huge for the 2025 Michigan football recruiting class. He is a five-star prospect according to 247 Sports, and he is the #14 player in the 2025 class. He is the #3 OT and the top player in the state of Kansas. Babalola currently attends Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas.

Sherrone Moore has been coaching the offensive line in past years, but Moore is now the head coach for the Michigan football team. Jim Harbaugh left for the Los Angeles Chargers after the national championship win, and Moore was promoted.

Michigan needed a new OL coach, and the job went to Grant Newsome. Newsome played college football for the Wolverines from 2015-2018, and he was an OT. He has been a coach for Michigan since he graduated, and he was previously the tight ends coach.

Newsome has a big job as this Michigan team does not want to change their identity despite the coaching change. The OL will continue to be one of the most important parts of the game for the Wolverines.
