Acting head coach Mike Brown has developed a newfound admiration for forward Draymond Green in his lone year on the Golden State Warriors coaching staff, now more than ever aware of his impact not only on the floor, but outside of it as well.

Despite his often loud and fiery temperament, Green is often the “glue guy” that keeps the core together, serving not only as the engine of a high-octane team with championship pedigree, but as the rubber band that's kept all his teammates together.

“Draymond, the stuff he does on the floor, during timeouts, in practice, in film sessions, whenever. It's almost irreplaceable,” Brown said of Green. “He's probably the best that I've ever seen at it. He is the best at least off the top of my head that I've been around.”

“Even the last game, during a timeout,” Brown explained. “The (Cavaliers) went on a little run, we missed a couple shots, and he's basically in there taking over the huddle.”

The man at the helm went on to explain that his innate attitude for making the right choices has been the reason why the coaching staff has given him so much control over time and let him do his thing.

Brown explained how during the Western Conference Finals, he even chose to go away from a play that has gone from greatly effective to very sloppy, opting for a weak-side play that got them a much-needed basket and sparked another Warriors run.

“I mean, 99.9 percent of the time he says the right thing, and then you kind of you ‘oh yeah, yeah,'” Brown said. “He's got a feel for what he needs to do and what he needs to say to keep everybody on the right path. Whether it's Steve (Kerr), myself or anybody else on the team.”
