To say this year has been miserable for the Baltimore Orioles would be a massive understatement. Sure, they have some promising talent in their farm system that could turn up in a big way in the years to come. But right now, the major league club is on the verge of being on the wrong side of history.
The Orioles have lost 19 straight games entering play on Wednesday and no team in MLB has lost 20 in a row since…Baltimore did in 1988.
During this stretch, the Orioles have been outscored by a stunning 163-55 margin. After Tuesday's 14-8 loss to the Los Angeles Angels, Baltimore manager Brandon Hyde tried finding the positives (via ESPN.com).

“A couple of guys swung the bat well,” Hyde said. “I was impressed with our offense being down so much.”
The last win for the Orioles came all the way back on August 2, when they beat the New York Yankees 7-1. New York has been on fire since then and they are on the flip side of the coin, having won 11 straight games.
It won't get any easier for Baltimore on Wednesday as they face Shohei Ohtani on the mound. The likely AL MVP has been dominant on the mound for much of the season. Hyde has already stated it will be a bullpen game for the O's as they look to not extend the losing the streak t0 20 games.
