The Los Angeles Angels may just have dodged a bullet when it comes to the injury to superstar outfielder Mike Trout. The star slugger suffered a hand injury on Sunday after getting hit by a pitch in a game against the Rangers. The 30-year-old was removed from the game and taken in for testing on the injured hand. Trout addressed the media Monday and had some optimistic news regarding his hand, saying he's feeling a lot better, via Sam Blum.
Mike Trout said his hand is doing a lot better. Did some additional tests today. Just sore. Taking it day by day. Unclear if he’ll play this series.

Trout told reporters that his hand is just feeling sore and that he had gone in for additional testing earlier in the day. He didn't have an answer as to whether he'd return to the Angels' current three-game series with the NL West rival Houston Astros, which starts Monday night and lasts until Wednesday.
It's been a funky start to the season for Trout, who has missed some time due to a stomach illness, only to get hit by a pitch shortly after making his return to action. Hopefully, the 30-year-old will be able to get back onto the field soon and reclaim his spot in the lineup hitting No. 2 behind Shohei Ohtani.
If he's unable to return in time for the Astros' series, his next chance to play would come Friday when the Halos are hosting the Baltimore Orioles, the start of a six-game homestand that will also see the White Sox come to town.
Trout has featured in just 9 games this season, slashing .267/.405/.567 with 2 home runs, 3 RBI, and 8 runs.
