The Los Angeles Dodgers are doing well early on with a 25-12 record to start the season. This success comes despite multiple injuries throughout the roster. The Dodgers have had to play their last 12 games, three full series, without Clayton Kershaw in the pitching rotation. The ace is on the IL, dealing with an SI joint injury.
Things aren't looking any better for Kershaw's return, according to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. He said on MLB Network Radio that Kershaw is likely “a couple weeks away” from getting back in the bullpen.
MLB Network broadcaster Jon Morosi tweeted the disheartening update Friday afternoon.

This is a brutal blow for the Dodgers. Kershaw was undefeated in his first four starts this season. He recorded 32 strikeouts and a 1.80 ERA.
Earlier in the day, Roberts said that he wasn't sure when Kershaw would be back pitching, but didn't expect it “in the next few days.” In other words, Roberts kept the possibility of Kershaw pitching possibly in the next week or so. While that wasn't anything that any Dodgers fan wanted to hear, “a couple of weeks away” sounds a lot worse.
For now, Kershaw is expected to be out until at least late June. Fortunately, Los Angeles have a few other dependable pitchers to hold down the fort amid his absence. The Dodgers, without Kershaw, will attempt to string together some wins against the Philadelphia Phillies in their upcoming three-game series.
