The floods have been ravaging parts of the East Coast over the past few days. Well, the New York Yankees were playing the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday in California, but the radio team was still calling the game from Yankee Stadium. After the game, John Sterling got his car stuck while driving home and Spanish Yankees broadcaster Rickie Ricardo played the role of hero, according to the Associated Press.

Yankees broadcaster John Sterling was helped out of his flooding car by Spanish radio play-by-play man Rickie Ricardo on Wednesday night after Sterling got stuck trying to drive home after a game.

Sterling's broadcast partner, Suzyn Waldman, alerted Ricardo of the situation, and he did the rest to bring the Yankees 83-year-old legend back to safety.

Due to the COVID-19 protocols, the radio crews aren't traveling still, hence the reason for them calling the game on Wednesday night despite the conditions. It is terrific news to hear that Sterling, Ricardo, and the rest are safe, and thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims of the tragedy that has been taking place.

The Yankees are slated to begin a three-game set against the Baltimore Orioles, with the first game on Friday.
