Former NBA star Nate Robinson reportedly hauled in $2 million during his fight with Jake Paul, which ended in a vicious knockout.

Despite the loss, however, Robinson is apparently angling for another big payday in a rematch with Paul.

Stephen A. Smith of ESPN read a text from a source close to Robinson during “First Take” on Monday. Robinson apparently lamented not taking training seriously ahead of his bout with the YouTuber turned boxer:

“Nate walked out the arena [on Nov. 28 and] realized he was not trained well,” the text read, per TMZ. “[He] apologized for not listening and collected a little over $2 million for that fiasco. He's fine.”

“They are trying to get him to fight in a rematch, if you can believe that. Floyd ‘Money' Mayweather wants to train him, if he agrees. Crazy but true.”

The source is apparently attempting to dissuade Nate Robinson from pursuing a second fight. If the two-time Slam Dunk champion were to take it, per the source, he would need more money and ample training.

The Floyd Mayweather tie-in is especially interesting. “Money” is supposed to take on Jake's brother, Logan, later this year. That fight was originally scheduled for February, but was pushed back with the idea of having an audience for the fight. Still, the bout is expected to happen at some point.

Obviously, it would make for interesting theater were Mayweather to train Nate Robinson for a fight with the brother of his eventual opponent.

For his part, Paul is coming off another knockout victory over former MMA star Ben Askren this past weekend in Atlanta. Some have deemed the fight rigged while Paul continues to takedown whoever he has gone up against.

While many are clamoring for Jake Paul's next opponent to be an actual established boxer, perhaps a Nate Robinson fight would provide the largest payday.
