The NBA Draft lottery results are out, and the Orlando Magic are the biggest winners after landing the top overall pick in the 2022 rookie selection. The Oklahoma City Thunder got lady luck smiling on their favor as well after getting the second overall pick despite the odds putting them outside the Top 3.

Sure enough, Magic players were ecstatic with the result. After all, the last time the team drafted no. 1, they got a game-changing center in Dwight Howard. Now, they have a chance to get another big in a draft class that features center Chet Holmgrem and forwards Paolo Banchero and Jabari Smith. Jr.

Cole Anthony took to Twitter to share his reaction with the NBA Draft lottery results, all while giving a shoutout to head coach Jamahl Mosley who represented the team in the event. RJ Hampton also made sure to remind everyone they got no. 1.

Christian Wood, for his part, is happy the Rockets got the third overall pick. While they would have loved to get the top selection, the options of Holmgrem, Smith, Banchero and Jaden Ivey (whoever is left when they make their pick) is not something to scoff at.

Of course not everyone is happy. The Detroit Pistons had a huge chance to land the top selection or at least land in the Top 3, but they ended up getting the fifth pick. The same goes for the Indiana Pacers, who were expected to crack into the Top 5 or Top 3 only to end up with the sixth pick.

Naturally, Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton couldn't help but laugh.

The 2022 NBA Draft is scheduled on June 23. Between now and then, lottery teams are expected to make their decision on whether to trade up, trade down or keep their picks as they look to make major improvements on their respective rosters.
