College sensation Zion Williamson is one of the nine prospects who were invited by the league to the NBA Draft green room, ESPN's Jonathan Givony reports.

Williamson, who is expected to be selected first overall by the New Orleans Pelicans, will be joined by Ja Morant, RJ Barrett, Darius Garland, De'Andre Hunter, Jarrett Culver, Coby White, Cam Reddish, and Jaxson Hayes. These players are considered as the cream of the crop in this year's draft.

The league is expected to send 11 more invites within the coming days, as they hope to bring 20 draft prospects to the green room.

Although receiving an invitation to the green room is a testament to a prospect's draft stock, it is not a guarantee that they will be selected in the first round, as there are already instances where players were selected in the second round despite sitting in the green room.

However, that is not likely to happen to Williamson and the eight other players who received the first wave of invites. A lot of mock drafts have shown that they will all be selected within the top 14 in the draft.

At this point, only Zion and Morant are locks to be selected as first and second overall. After that, anyone can go above the other regardless of how they are positioned in the mock drafts.
