Jaren Jackson Jr. is expected to go high in the upcoming 2018 NBA Draft, but not exactly projected to become the top overall pick by the Phoenix Suns. Those would be the anyone from the likes of DeAndre Ayton, Marvin Bagley III, and Luka Doncic. That being said, Jackson is player who could be considered as a sleeper top pick, one who would certainly raise plenty of eyebrows if he goes first. That remains a possibility, though, as the Suns don’t seem to be overlooking Jackson as a potential top selection, per Scott Bordow of AZCentral.com.

Jackson has a scheduled workout with the Suns this Sunday, where the former Michigan State Spartan could make a strong case as to why Phoenix should get him.

An extremely talented frontcourt piece, Jackson wreaked havoc on both ends of the floor for the Spartans last season. In 35 games with Michigan State, Jackson was able to compile averages of 10.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks. He shot 51.3 percent from the field. He also has range, as evidenced by his high 39.6 shooting percentage from distance, making 1.1 of his 2.7 3-point attempts per game.

Jackson is expected to become a productive piece for any team who’ll get him. He’s very much likely going to get plenty of playing time with a rebuilding team like the Suns, but it remains to be seen whether Phoenix will actually call for his name on draft night.
