Antetokounmpo won the NBA's MVP award, the first in the 24-year-old's brief career. Giannis is the first Milwaukee Bucks player to win the distinguished MVP award since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar won three MVPs in four years for Milwaukee.
Giannis averaged 27.7 points, 12.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.5 blocks in 32.8 minutes per game. He also shot 52.1 percent from the floor, 27.7 percent from 3-point range and 72.9 percent from the free throw line.
It's been an important offseason for the Bucks, who finished as runner-ups to the eventual champions Toronto Raptors in the Eastern Conference Finals. Milwaukee is looking at ways to upgrade the team around Antetokounmpo and overcome the hump into the NBA Finals next season and beyond.
The team had to part ways with former Rookie of the Year and combo guard Malcolm Brogdon, who was acquired by the Indiana Pacers in a sign-and-trade as a restricted free agent in exchange for two future draft picks.
Milwaukee also re-signed one-time All-Stars forward Khris Middleton and center Brook Lopez. In addition to those moves, the Bucks signed Brook's brother Robin Lopez and free agent veteran shooting guard Wesley Matthews.
