This is the second time for China to send a team in Summer League, as they’ve sent a team to partake in the tournament back in 2007. It is believed that the Chinese national team will use the Summer League to prepare for the FIBA World Cup, which will be held in China from August 31 to September 15.
Croatia will be first time participants.
There’s still no reports as to who will be in the Summer League roster of both international teams.
This is the second consecutive year where all 30 NBA teams will participate in the Summer League. The tournament will run from July 5-15,
All participating teams will play four games in the preliminary round, and the eight squads with the best record will advance to the playoffs.
The 24 teams that will get knocked out will play one more game as consolation.
This will be a great opportunity for China and Croatia to show what their best players can do when matched-up with some of the brightest up and comers from the United States.
The Summer League is a tournament where the players who were drafted by all NBA teams will have a first-time experience of what it’s like to play in the pros.
If the Chinese and Croatian players can hold their ground against the top prospects of the NBA, we could be seeing some of them get a training camp invite.
