It was earlier announced that the NBPA had already approved December 22 as the new start date of the 2020-21 campaign. Some of the biggest stars in the NBA have already reacted to the breaking news on social media, with guys like Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers and Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks leading the pack.

Lillard took to his IG Stories to share how he feels about this recent development:

Damian Lillard, Blazers

It wasn't long before Lillard caught wind of the news, and being the ultimate competitor that he is, his reaction is unsurprisingly geared towards just getting things started. Lillard and the Blazers are coming off a disappointing end to their season, after they were ousted by the eventual champs, the Los Angeles Lakers, in the first round of the playoffs. Lillard and Co. put up a tremendous effort to make the postseason cut, only to be eliminated by L.A. in five games. Clearly, the five-time All-Star has some unfished business to attend to this coming season.

It was a similar reaction from Hawks star Trae Young, who himself tweeted out his excitement for the coming season. There was initially some confusion about when the season was actually going to start, and for his part, Young is just glad that the new tip-off date has now been finalized:

Memphis Grizzlies stud Ja Morant was also one of the first to react to the news, and apparently, the 21-year-old is feeling a bit devilish about this new development:

This recent announcement does not come as a surprise, given how December 22nd has long been penciled in as the potential start date of the 2020-21 campaign. Nevertheless, the fact that it has now been confirmed that we're going to get NBA basketball again in a little over a month's time just gets us all giddy. Apparently, the same can be said about the players.
