On Thursday, “Pooh: The Derrick Rose Story” finally aired on Stadium. The documentary took a deep dive into Rose's life both inside and outside of the game and unveiled many secrets about his career.

It also included exclusive coverage of the moment Derrick Rose learned he had been traded in June 2016. Via Stadium on Twitter:

At the beginning of the clip, Rose explained how he blocked out trade rumors and instead was focused on winning in Chicago.

At this point, his hometown Bulls were the only NBA team he ever knew. But in the middle of an interview, he received a phone call that changed everything.

Rose learned he had been traded to the New York Knicks. His immediate reaction was shock, and he tried to leave the house and escape the cameras. But they followed him outside where he was visibly choked up and emotional about the news. After his call, he sat back down and continued the interview, fighting through tears.

This video reveals a side of basketball that fans rarely see. To many, trades are nothing more than a transaction, a way for a team to improve. But to the players, they can be life-changing.

The Bulls selected Rose first overall in the 2008 draft. In Chicago, he was the 2008-09 Rookie of the Year and the 2010-11 Most Valuable Player. During his time with the Bulls, he averaged 19.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 6.2 assists. On June 23, 2016, he was traded to the Knicks for Robin Lopez, Jose Calderon and Jerian Grant.

Since, Rose has also played for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves.
