Game 3 between the Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks was supposed to start at 7 PM ET at State Farm Arena, but it's now been postponed until 7:45 PM ET after a suspicious package was found outside of the arena.

Via ClutchPoints:

As you can see, Hawks fans are getting very frustrated ahead of this contest against the Heat because of the delay:

It's unknown if the package was actually harmful or not, but when there are this many people in a crowded space, security always has to be sure. The Hawks trail the Heat 2-0 and desperately need a victory in Game 3 to stay in the series. Atlanta has struggled to compete, with Miami's stout defense absolutely stifling Trae Young thus far.

The Heat is still considered one of the favorites to come out of the Eastern Conference after finishing in first place during the regular season. The Hawks made a heroic run all the way to the conference finals in 2021, but they're definitely shorthanded this time around as well with big man Clint Capela currently injured.

Now, it looks like Game 3 could be delayed even longer after the local road outside of the arena was closed off by the police:

They're not taking any chances here. Eventually, tip-off will come but for now, security and police are making sure all is okay.
