LiAngelo Ball's NBA dreams were cut short after the Detroit Pistons waived him two weeks since signing him. While it's unfortunate news, many basketball diehards poked fun at the guard on Twitter.
The first thing that came to the minds of several fans was LaVar, the outspoken and gregarious Ball patriarch.

Another fan subscribed to the theory that the Pistons simply signed Ball to boost their following on social media. After all, the Ball family has a pretty solid fan base since they have their own TV show.
Moreover, LiAngelo himself has a very interesting journey, given the fact that two of his brothers are now in the NBA. Of course, there's LaVar who seems to never run out of energy when it comes to building the hype around his sons.

From the looks of it, several Pistons fans had a similar hunch. Several pounced on Detroit's Instagram, calling the NBA franchise a “joke” and “clout chasers.” Several also lambasted the team for not even playing Ball in the preseason.
Additionally, quite a number said that they've hit the unfollow button.

Amid all the heated emotions, Legion Hoops simply gave LiAngelo a well-deserved shoutout.

However, this is not the end of the road for LiAngelo. The 22-year-old inked an Exhibit 10 deal with the Pistons. Since he was waived after training camp, he still has a chance to join the Grand Rapids Drive—the Pistons’ NBA G League affiliate—and receive a bonus.
Ball fans better keep their eyes peeled. The road to NBA is not yet over the LiAngelo.
