Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest athletes to ever pick up a basketball, but people have put him to task when he ruthlessly called out a player on his girls' youth basketball team two years ago. He has since changed his stance, but Kendrick Perkins stepped up to defend the Lakers legend.

The Lakers legend posted a picture of the team and had this fiery caption attached to it:

“Here's our fourth place “winners” picture lol six of the kids in the picture stayed with me and worked every single day to get better and continue to work to this day. The 7th player (not in pic) missed this game for a dance recital so that should tell you where her focus was at this time. From the original 7 we have added a player TWO years YOUNGER (6th grade now), a player who's team in our area folded and a player who's family moved here from Tennessee. The beauty of coaching is growing the players from the ground up. That journey continues #Mambas”

He has since changed the caption and clarified his stance after getting backlash from people all over the sport. He even shared a video of himself dancing, implying that he understands what his players are going through.

However, Perkins reminded everyone that his attitude was what made him legendary as a basketball player. That his obsession was what helped him get five titles with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Perkins definitely has a point, but not every basketball player is aspiring to be a pro. Players who will play under Coach Kobe should work harder, just in case.
