Michael Jordan has been criticized throughout his NBA career and time as an owner for not using his voice to raise more awareness to important things other than basketball. Matt Barnes, a former NBA journeyman, dared Jordan to make a big statement for once following president Donald Trump's controversial tweet about LeBron James.

In an Instagram post, Barnes was direct to the point.

Jordan's comments come in after Trump dragged his name into his heated exchange with James, saying that: “I like Mike.” It is perhaps Trump's attempt to answer who he feels is the greatest of all time.

Jordan did respond with a statement in support for James. Via a spokesperson, Jordan said, as per Geoff Bennett of NBC News.

“I support LJ. He’s doing an amazing job for his community.”

Yet despite this, Barnes believes Jordan should be using his voice more often. He is, after all, one of the biggest, if not the biggest names in all of sports. Jordan is right up there with the likes of Muhammad Ali — known for his scathing remarks against the government during the peak of his career. And Jordan has been criticized for not speaking up on the more important issues hounding his country.

Will Barnes' statement reach Michael Jordan? And more importantly, will this trigger the greatest of all time to finally use his voice?
