Detroit Pistons forward Andre Drummond has advised collegiate superstar Zion Williamson to sit out the rest of the NCAA season after suffering a scary injury a couple of days ago.

In an interview with Detroit Free Press' Vince Ellis, Andre Drummond said he'd rather see Williamson sit out than play, get hurt, and not be properly compensated by the NCAA. He also advised the youngster to just focus on getting ready for the NBA.

“Why would you keep playing? All the money that they making off this kid, why wouldn’t he just sit out?”

“He’s selling out arenas. People pay $10,000 to see him and he gets hurt and gets none of that money spent to see him play. You have to think about yourself because you could have a career-ending injury and that’s the rest of the story for him. I’d rather him take care of himself and get himself prepared. We all know he’s going to the draft so start working out and get yourself ready for a tough, grueling league.”

Williamson suffered a leg injury roughly 36 seconds into the Duke Blue Devils' game against the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. It sent shock waves to the entire basketball world, as the 18-year-old freshman is expected to be the first overall pick in this June's NBA. Players and fans sent well wishes to Zion on social media, and it was later confirmed that his injury isn't serious and that he's likely to return this season.

Still, a lot of people like Drummond believe that with the recent controversies surrounding the NCAA, it would be better for Zion to just sit  the season out as there's indeed a very bright future ahead of him in the NBA.
